26.000 metres of heating pipe against the ice.

Construction of heating systems at all scales.

In order to ensure perfect conditions for training and competition all year round, turf heating systems are an elementary prerequisite for professional football.

Features

Turf heating systems beneath competition areas are mandatory in many professional leagues. They guarantee consistent game conditions even during severe weather such as frost, snow and ice. A turf heating system meets several functionalities at once.

Its main function is to ensure an ice-free turf, preventing falls and injuries. Besides, the turf heating system protects the natural grass from damages. Under mechanical stress caused by maintenance works or football players, frozen blades of grass break and the plant is harmed. This causes visual flaws, interrupts the growth of the grass and damages the turf as a whole.

Thus, the grass heating system is an important aspect in order to preserve the turf’s excellent quality, especially during the winter months, and to protect it until spring when growing season starts.

Our hybrid turf systems Sporthybrid R and Sporthybrid Turf are designed for compatibility with grass heating systems. Besides, more and more heating systems are installed beneath artificial turf pitches where they prevent ice formation inside and upon the bedding material. Hence artificial turf pitches can be used for training purposes all year round.

Requirements

Technical Requirements

  • Consistent heat distribution
  • Absolute evenness of the built-in surface heating
  • Impermeability of the system
  • Energy efficiency
  • Reliability of installation and control system

Installation

Turf heating systems are conventional surface heating systems. In order to guarantee a consistent heat distribution, their construction is based on the so-called Tichelmann system.

This means that both feed line and return line are of equal length in each heating loop. This safeguards equal pressure losses as well as equal volume flows and heat losses at each section of the pitch. This is achieved by laying a third distributor pipe which extends the return flow within the system – as is usual for panel heating systems.

We cooperate with several companies and suppliers that are leaders in the fields of heating engineering and system control in order to install the best heating systems, customized for each of our clients.
