During the summer break ahead of the 2025/26 season, heiler extensively modernised the pitch at 1. FC Heidenheim’s home stadium. Work began immediately after the first leg of the relegation play-off against SV Elversberg.

The existing pitch was removed before the drainage system was renewed and preparations were made for the new undersoil heating. The modern heating system incorporates an efficient insulation layer that reduces energy consumption by up to 30 per cent, making an important contribution to sustainability in professional football.

The pitch layers were then rebuilt, and our partner Hendriks Graszoden laid the new turf. With its high shear resistance and optimal water permeability, the installed Sporthybrid R hybrid turf system provides consistently excellent playing conditions at the Bundesliga’s smallest stadium, which also sits at the highest altitude. The work was completed in time for kick-off at the first home match of the new Bundesliga season.
