Having trained on a heiler hybrid turf pitch since 2024, FC St. Pauli have also been playing on hybrid turf at the Millerntor Stadium since September 2025. The historic stadium in the heart of Hamburg’s St. Pauli district received a comprehensive pitch upgrade during the international break.

Preparations for the Sporthybrid R system began during the summer break. The old rootzone layer was removed and replaced with a specially formulated layer tailored to the hybrid turf system. Our long-standing partner Hendriks Graszoden then laid the turf ahead of the first home match against Borussia Dortmund.

The new hybrid turf delivers lasting improvements to playing conditions at the Millerntor Stadium. Increased shear resistance and optimal water permeability keep the pitch level and durable, ensuring excellent conditions for the Kiez-Kicker.
